Building Care and Recycling, including Important Notes
Mail is delivered six days a week to the mailboxes in the lobby. Outgoing mail may be placed in the slot at the bottom of the mailboxes.
Packages are placed on the shelves inside the office or near the mailboxes. Residents are emailed when they receive a package. Packages in the office may be picked up during office hours or by asking lobby staff during evening hours (listed at the right). When you take a package, tell the lobby attendant your unit number.
Food deliveries. Food delivered after 7:30 p.m. must be left in the lobby and retrieved by residents there. Food delivered during daytime hours can be taken upstairs by the delivery person.
Regular trash can be placed in the trash chutes located on each floor or the recycling room. It must be bagged.
IMPORTANT: Never place kitty litter in the trash chute; it MUST be taken to the trash room and placed in a trash receptacle on the left. Placing it down the trash chutes damages the trash compactor on the main floor, resulting in danger to our staff who must remove it, as well as potentially costly repairs.
The trash room is on the lobby level near the elevators.
Receptacles for paper and for cardboard boxes, which must be flattened, are on the right.
Receptacles for cans, bottles and regular trash, including kitty litter, are on the left.
Never pour grease or large amounts of food or waste down your sink. Put them in your trash. This includes coffee grains, eggshells, and leftovers.
Instead, use a great, ecofriendly, and cheap solution: purchase a sink strainer for about $6 and keep it in your sink to strain waste from your water.
Once a year the building will offer residents the opportunity to remove bulk items and paint. Check back on this site or watch your email.
Electronics can be recycled at nearby facilities such as Mom's Organic Markets (phones), eAsset Solutions (all electronics, in Falls Church) and through DC government events that are held at their facilities, usually for free or low cost.
Do not leave paint cans in the trash room. Considered toxic, paint must be disposed of according to DC law. Periodically, the building provides a time when paint can be disposed of onsite. Ask the property manager for more information.

Many of the building's repair expenses are caused when residents violate the above rules about disposal. That means, in turn, your condo fees and rental rates could increase. Please respect our staff and neighbors by following these rules.
