Important Notice
from the Board
from the Board
This page serves as a formal reminder regarding serious safety violations and ongoing issues within the building. All residents are required to comply with building rules and regulations without exception. Non-compliance will result in enforcement actions, which may include fines, legal responsibility for damages, and other disciplinary measures as outlined in the Richmond's building policy.
Fire Hazards on Balconies
Improper disposal of cigarettes or any flammable materials is a serious violation and direct threat to resident's safety and the property. All residents are required to:
Properly extinguish and dispose of cigarettes and flammable items
Avoid placing any flammable objects on balconies or near combustible materials
Monitor balconies for fire hazards
The Board of Directors and Management will hold any violators fully accountable. Landlords are required to communicate these rules to their tenants and ensure compliance. Given the potential damage to our building and its residents, as well as the resources that are wasted when the DC Fire is needlessly dispatched to our building, any violations will not be taken extremely seriously.
Pets In Common Areas: Strict Enforcement
All pets must be leashed or carried in all common areas—no exceptions. Unleashed pets are a direct violation of building policy and a risk to resident safety, particularly for those with allergies, fear of animals, or disabilities. Violations will result in:
Written warnings
Fines
Potential restrictions on pet privileges
This rule is non-negotiable and will be strictly enforced.
Drain Misuse
The management team continues to receive reports of residents disposing of food, grease, coffee grounds, rice, and corn down the drain. Improper disposal is strictly prohibited and constitutes misuse of building infrastructure. Garbage disposals are not designed for food composting or waste. Consequences of continued misuse include:
Increased plumbing repair costs
Damage to individual and neighboring units
Mandatory insurance claims
Interruption of utility services
Rent increases due to costly repairs
If these practices continue, violating units will be financially responsible for damage and repairs. Surveillance and maintenance reports will be reviewed to track and address offenders.
